1999 premium head unit problems

I know several people have had problems with skipping and disc reads, but has anyone ever had a problem with the unit not accepting the cd? It almost seems as if the unit thinks it already has a cd inside, so it rejects any cd trying to be put in. Turning the unit on and off will usually rectify this problem. This is not a recurring issue and has only happened about 3 times, but nevertheless peeves me. Has this ever happened to anyone else? does anyone think this is a serious problem?

I am newbie to this site and solara. i absolutely love my car. ive never been so obsessive compulsive over an inanimate object. really like some of the mods people have made.

welcome aboard!

how old is your cd player? it might be dusty inside, so cleaning it may be one solution.
