Gen1 I4 and V6 - Same brake pads?

Do the I4 and V6 Gen1 use the same brake pads for the front discs?

Also, a related question. I was changing my brakes this morning and it seems I'm missing one of my caliper bolts (that holds the caliper to the car). Anyone know how to get these? They seem like thier between 5/16ths and 1/4th bolts. I bought both at home depot and ones too thick and the others too small. It must be some metric size. I'm thinking I'm going to have to go to Toyota for it, but I'm not even sure if they would stock something like that. Anyone got a better idea?

take a picture of the hole or area you are talking about.

i dont recall any nut/bolt that size down there.

Thanks for the reply. Its the two bolts holding in the caliper that you have to loosen to take the caliper off the pads in order to change the pads. This is in the I4, not sure if its 2 bolts in the V6. I left my camera at home so I cant really take a pic (I dont go home til the weekend).

And if anyone knows, I still need to know if the pads are the same pads for both I4 and V6 trims.

Home Depot bolt = low grade.
Their highest metric grade is 8.8 which is barely enough for automotive use.

Go to Toyota to get them.

I just called in. Its a frikkin $11 dollar part for the bolt, plus its gotta be ordered. AND they wouldnt give me the part number over the phone for whatever reason.

Its the bolt that holds the caliper to the bracket. Theres two that you need to remove on each caliper so you can move the caliper out of the way so you can change the brake pad.

Well, then just go to Home Depot and save some bucks. Then, when your caliper falls off, just be lucky you saved some cheddar. Dude caliper bolts are VERY important and need to fit perfectly in place and be strong as hell. A junkyard might give you one if you pull it off. Home Depot and you lose.

Yea I understand that the bolts important. But 11 buck for ONE bolt is kinda rapage. I'll probably end up doing it since I have no real choice.

That bolts been gone for at least a year and I just found out when I did them since the place that did them last never told me about any missing bolt. Its causing the inner driver side pad to wear very unevenly over my last two sets of pads, and was causing my rotors to warp due to the uneven pressure. Only thing I can think of is that they took it out delibrately so I'd be back gettin a new pair of pads sooner, since I think they would notice something like that when changing my pads at least one of the last two times. (Were talkin RS Strauss on 202 in NJ)

Just went to my local Toyota. I got the bolt for for a buck 69 shipped to Toyota.

No one EVER go to North Brunswick Toyota in Jersey.
