It may depend on when your '99 SLE was manufactured; Mine is a '99 SE V6 with the JBL, manufactured in May of '99. My JBL head unit was self contained (the amp is built into the head unit itself). Although mine had the amp built in, I've heard other '99's may have a seperate amp. If the amp is seperate, I've heard its in the space behind the glovebox. You can tell by taking out the stock head unit: if there are 2 plugs in the back, there is no sperate amp. If there is 1 plug, the amp is seperate. :fadein:
