My automatic stalled out

Anyone ever heard of this happening. After it snowed i went to my HS parking lot and did donuts, or atleast tried to. Anyways i had been there for like 15 minutes and i did another donut and as i came around i brought my car to a full stop, and the engine just shut off. I put it into Park and turned the key to off and then started it back up and its been fine. Any clue what caused this? Is it a sign that i was pushing it too hard, i don't think i was, never went over 4500 RPM.

this kinda reminds me of that procedure cops use on cars in high speed chases........someone remind me. Is it any way connected to this?

i doubt hard driving will shut off the engine...
S/C problems maybe?

I tried stalling an auto by rolling downhill backward. Bad bad idea... Never stalled when doing donuts in snow though.

But I did stall an Auto Boxster S a few times when doing donuts on snow with summer tires in big big parking lot, oh boy it was fun sliding sideway. :lol:

I think that's a failsafe technique Toyota incorporated into its ECU. I had a more life-threatening situation on my Gen4, where I lost control on a snowy day, going about 35-MPH, steering wheel rattled, car drifted from the rightmost lane (out of 2) to ONCOMING traffic over the median and ended up facing other direction. Car died and I thought I hit the curb, but started the car back up again and drove off. Though alignment was off, but everything has been fine since then. Thank God there were no ONCOMING traffic then!!!

hopefully nothing's wrong w/ it.

it's weird..sometime people will call to have their car towed cause it died while driving, or it's not starting and doesn't sound like it needs a jump..and the car will randomly start as i'm talking to them, or they'll call back after like 30mins cause they decided to try to start the car again and it does.

OOO come to think of it... My Solara did the same thing before.

On a rainy day, I was going too fast in the curve, my stupid brain told my leg to brake... Well, that induces oversteer... my car starts spinning and the engine stalled.

I did the same kinda thing in my 90 celica auto. It was raining on fresh black top, and I swirved really quickly to avoid something in the road and I spun around a couple times. The engine stalled, I started it right back up, no problem.

possibly a low oil pressure situation. in some cars with the car sliding in a circle the oil can move away from the oil sensor and the car will stall. not sure if the solara does this but i have had at least one car that did, particularly whan the oil level was down a bit. ever have the oil light come on when cornering hard?

i'm no expert on solara's yet. only have 5k on my 2003 . . .

My oil level is fine and i didn't have the oil light come on on my dash but who knows. The car is running fine so i'm not too worried about it
