car maintenance...good recommendations

here are alot of good tips for car maintenance..

although i am curious about a few such as
"tires wear at twice the rate at 70mph than they do at 50 mph"

and especially
"slow w/ your clutch to save wear on your brake system"

my assumption not being a mechanic would be to wear the brake pads which are easily, and cheaply replaceable rather than any part of your clutch??

you said it - think about what is less of a hassle to replace, brakes or transmission.

It's possible that they build greater heat from faster rotational speeds in a non-linear fashion. Perhaps it's the heat build-up that causes faster wear.

I'm personally hard-pressed to believe that they'd have it in there for no reason. But that's me; your mileage may vary.

Tires dont wear down faster at 70MPH if you have tires that can handle it... People now days buy tires that can only withstand 90mph without losing control... WTF you know.. Gay idiots..

And about the clutch thing.. I guess it came from a mechanic so they can make money. Just look at my car and the amount of stress it did to my transmission mounts.. Not to mention you put a huge stress on the motor since its trying to run at the same time being hold back so its pressure like crazy...

Who ever made that list intentions are to make some money..
