brake squeel

This happens like every time now. It seems to squeel for like 10 minutes after i start the car, but dies off as a bit when i move. But sometimes the sound comes back after no squeel for 20 minutes. This isnt just in the morning, it happens everytime I start the car and when I took it to toyota and they said nothing was wrong at all.

I have no clue how old the brake pads are when i bought my car. but i guess toyota said nothing was wrong. I hightly doubt it. Theres gotta be a reason im hearing that sound and it goes away and comes back as im driving.

If you have looked at the pads and they are indeed in fine condition, I would get a new set of shoes (justin case) and get some gunk at the auto parts store they call brake squeal reducer, or something. Super hi-temp RTV (the red kind) sealant will also work, and put just a little bit on the back of the pad, or maybe between those 2 sheet metal spacers that are between the pad and the caliper. let it dry for a bit before you press on the pedal, and MAKE SURE you didn't put too much in there and it is not squeezing out from behind the pads. (You don't want this crud anywhere on your brakes/calipers)

This will fix any minor squealing that is not related to the pads wearing out. Sometimes you get a little noise as the pad sticks and then slides, much like dipping your finger in vinegar and rubbing it on the rim of a thin glass.

This didn;t happen after any brake work did it? (or has been there as long as you've owned the car?) I did my brakes, and the chump screwed up turning my rotors... but it sounded more like a grind than a squeal. I replaced the rotors and it went away.

this never happend when i first bought the car like 9 months ago, just the last couple months. I guess I'll buy new brake pads and try that gunk you told me about. The sound is just too annoying now.

From how I see it, its just because you have braked in the rain one time when the brake system was really hot. Or you braked sometime after it started raining. That causes uneven surfaces so when you brake, its not grabbing evenly. Only way to take it away is change the pads but that would be a waste of money since they will still grab just with some sounds. You also create this if you brake hard a few time or race allot and brake hard.. Theres allot of factors.
