Hamer Toyota Service Gone Wrong

Hamer Toyota Service Gone Wrong

Postby vairdasol » Mon Oct 10, 2005 9:15 pm

So today my parents went to Hamer toyota because my brakes were in bad shape. Although its my car, my parents think that a Toyota Dealer offers the best service. Long story short, I payed $415 for the following services

- Change front brake pads
- 100% brake fluid exchange
- Resurface the cylinder
- Change 2 engine mounts

Anywho, when I drove my car for the first time, I was at CSUN (my university) all day, the car made a hidious sound. I mean this shreking could be heard around the block. It sounded bad. It sounded when I accelerated and broke.

Two questions for you my solara brothers and sisters..

1. Did I overpay?
2. WTF is wrong with my car?

Thank you,
Dave-0

P.S. I WILL take my Sol back to the DAMN dealer.

All labor rates, labor hours and part prices are dealer-dependant. It's not controlled.

Brake pads/machine rotors should be around $150 - $200

Brake fluid flush should run no more than $100

2 Engine mounts and labor should run no more than $200. (closer to 150)

The price sounds about right.

The sound could be a number of things. Since you just got it serviced, the dealer may be more than happy to take a look at it. Possibly a tool was left in the engine bay that's caught in the drive belts...
