i was wondering what would be the healthy rpm range for a 99 sle v6?
is 4k bad? i don't need to take it to 4 when on the residential roads but on like 45 mph roads it feels like im goin nowhere unless i go above 3000.
don't want to decrease the life of my solara.
thanks

up to 4k is 'normal'
beyond that is just for fun (unless you're going up a super steep incline)
1GR-FE ftw!

You probally wont get great gas mileage if you are constantly doing 4k rpm so i'd try and keep it a little lower

redlining every once in a while may not hurt, but if you want ur car to last to at least 100k miles going up to 4 or 5k rpms may not be the right choice.

If you do plan to redline your car make sure that its warm and that you change your oil regularly
