the alarmed help me from the second time they smashed my windows they ran, they thought my car doesn't have an alarm
I might have smashed windows but my system that worth $1,500 still there...... 8)

Yeah, hasn't happened to me yet, I feel ya bro.
What some friends of mine have done in the past, at least for the subs, is to connect the bottom of the sub box to the chassis of the car. One of em made one of the bolts through the original hole for the spare tire, and then had two more bolts on each side connecting to some real solid parts of the car chassis. All i can say is thieves, if smart at all, stay away from crap that looks like too much of a hassle. So I plan on bolting everything down so when they try the only damage they'll accomplish are the windows and maybe it will piss them off so much they damage my crap, but then it can be replaced easy. Hope everything works out.

insurance took care of the window by the next day, as far as the stereo and everything, the "replacement" team is going to call me within the next 48 hours but they wanted to know everything I had, model #'s etc, so hopefully I can get some kind of replacement or a check or something...ill let you know

the guy who called me was a guy on my hockey team who noticed my car. he was already out there because his brothers car got broken into as well...there were 6 cars in total hit.

6 cars... Crazy. Hopefully police will go through a deep investigation for a sting on these culprits. But for anything worth a damn penny, secure it well. Money is your life to keep moving onwards. Though i hate to say this but only an idiot who doesnt put an alarm in first with so much equipement like will be an easy victim.

I have seen it happen to my ex-roommate's friend's civic but in the most fearsome worse case scenario. A car jack strip. The civic was being babied into a high end import showcar almost. Body kit, intake, exhaust, wheels. No alarm... got stolen easily... then I dunno when I got word about them finding the car on bricks or something stripped bare naked to the skeleton chassis.....

Many of us been through some hell... but my hell is very personal to not tell ya the story. :bday:

Will an alarm stop an amateur? Maybe. Will an alarm stop or even measurably slow down a professional? Personally, I don't think so.

IMHO, if an alarm gives you a feeling of security, that's money well spent in my book.

Damn that hella sucks man. . . If the insurance is willing to get you back all of stuff than thats cool. . . man I hate people that do this and think they're really cool but don't even know how pathetic they are. . . You should try to invest in a car alarm preferably with a proximity sensor. . . Like mine is on the a pretty low sensitivity setting so it doesn't go off everytime some walks by my car. . . It will give off a warning sound but when you stand for a little bit longer next to my car the alarm will go off. . . Alarms can possibly lower your insurance too :D thats always a plus

Even if it was possible to make for auto, it never would for safety concerns (IE - if the police need to pull you out of the car)

That only happened once Yanks! And I was cleared of all charges (mistrial) and I'd be happy if we never mention it again!....j/k

Correct me if I'm wrong but a mistrial is lot different from an acquittal. I'm afraid the charges could be brought up again at any time.

Sorry to not be able to give you better news.
