What's the suggested milage for a tire rotation? or does it all depend on other factors?

Thanks :D

I don't know if any of you all have looked at your manuals, they all recommend to rotate (clockwise or counter clock wise) every 6-7K miles. When i go (discount tire) they do not want to do (and don't recommend) clockwise rotations...only the front's for backs...I do mine every time I service my car (3K miles)...or if there are any shakes on the Hwy, then i go in again! (good thing....road hazad and balance/roation is included in the price of the tire when purchased from discount tire).

not to mention w/ the road hazard warranty u can get it to cover more than it really does  (cough cough...like if let's say you accidently happen to OPPS! hit a curb  no no no..you didn't hit a curb!! the tire blew out on the hgwy!! :P sadly enough, this is what i would do anyways, but the guy who sold me the tires looked left and right and then leaned towards me over the counter and whispered this to me..LOL)

i was just thinking..i only replaced the two front tires (FWD) and not the two back ones w/ 40k on the car. i've only put about 1-2k on it since then. isn't that gonna mess up rotating? cause i don't wanna put the rear on the front..maybe just switch around the left and right rear?

The BMW's do that, since some of the front and rear sizes are different, ie. switch left for right and keep front fronts and rear rears. My father never roated his tires, and we used to have them on our cressida for like 2 years....so its not how long you have them, it also how you drive!

It's not the best idea to put your right tires on the left side or vice versa, because the radial tires get broke in on one side and switching sides can lead to a blow out. That's why your tire store said they don't do it.

I found that out the hard way, after my tire blew the guy at the tire store told me that also.

Every 5,000 is a rule of thumb, but I get mine done around the times i do oil changes either 3-4k mile intervals. I do have unlimited lifetime rotation and balance on my tires.

Hmm. I've never rotated my tires. Would I need to rotate them on my toyo proxies? I used to get them balanced and rotated when i'd switch them to snows and back again. Now that I have two separate pair of rims how often should I rotate the tires?

toyo reccomends every 5000. so try to keep track which ones were at the front and back when you switch (because the front gets worn much quicker).
