What should idle be at?

What should idle be at?

Postby Nyyankees3511 » Thu Oct 20, 2005 3:35 pm

Hey guys, ive noticed lately that my idle when fully warm is 1 bar below 1000 or a little less but never 2 bars is that normal? Also how do i clean the mass air flow sensor? I just hit 100k on the odo what else should i check, i replaced the sparkplugs, cleaned the throttle body. Maybe i should change the fuel filter where can it be found? What oil filter should i use other than toyota. Any other advice would be appreciated. Thanks guys.

On the same note, is it normal for the Gen1 V6 to idle and not in gear at 1800 when you first start it with noxious gas fumes? When it warms up, it's completely regular (about 700 RPM and you can't smell a damned thing).

if you hit 100k and havent done the "BIG 70-80k" tune up then prepare to spend some cash..i dont have time to list right now but i will later

2 of the more expensive issues would be the timing belt and water pump which you should do together to minimize costs..

and i am about to change my fuel filter also ill check where it is..recommended every 30000 for the fuel filter

Fuel filter is under the intake, you should be able to see it. Where do you get the fuel filter from? Whats the best way to change it? Thanks
