trim removal question, help appreciated

trim removal question, help appreciated

I need to remove the interior trim on the A pillar (extending from above the frameless door windows to the windshield). I have to run a wire from my new auto-dimming rear-view underneath the headliner down to the junction box under the knee bolster. I also have to run this wire under the a pillar trim, but i dont know how to remove it.

In the haynes manual its called, "door trim garnish". If anyone could help me with its removal, i would be greatly appreciative.

Take care - j

Pry your fingers into the piller and pull gently untill comes loose. Use caution you shouldnt break it.

I've been planning on doing the same thing. Let me know how it all turns out and i'd like to get some pointers once you get done with yours.

are you trying to remove the rubber molding on the door? if so, just tug at it and it will come off. then you can pull your pillar off and hide the wires underneath.

this is exachtly what I am trying to do...pull the "garnish" off and run the wire down to the JB under the steering wheel. That door trim is on there pretty good, but i haven't pulled them hard enough, so I'll do that.

Granted, I haven't recieved the auto-rearview yet, nor do i know a damn thing about wiring, so i'll let you guys know how it works out.
