Dont need the e-brake to smoke my 235's with an auto!

You can't smoke 235s. Maybe on wet surfaces. I have 225s on an auto V6, and I slightly lose traction. Maybe you need new tires! :D

3000 miles on Nitto 555's 235/40/18's, I have a s/c with 2.75 pulley and a auto. I can asure you I can smoke my first gear when I switch my EBC off.

Agreed, Autos trade some efficiency for convenience, but they're not as inferior as most people here make them out to be.

Using Jim@FA's car is not really a fair comparison. He's lowered his compression, increased his boost, added new heads, added new fuel injectors, and adjusted his fuel pressure regulator, among other things. His car would blow the doors off of anyone else's Solara despite the fact that it's an automatic.

Your point is taken, though. There's not a huge difference between the auto and the manual. Unless it's really important to get those extra couple of tenths of a second at the drag strip, it really just comes down to a matter of personal preference in how you like to drive. I happen to like the feeling of manually going through the gears.
