Yeah thte oil would take 5 quarts wit the filter.
And i think i put in about 6-7 quarts of Royal Purple to the tranny, cause i added a tranny cooler.

V6/1MZ-FE
Engine Oil: 5 quarts w/ filter.
Auto Trans Oil: approx 12 quarts full flush (disconnect OEM cooler return line method), drain trans pan = 5 quarts approx = 40% total system equation I use.
Aftermarket stacked plate 16k GVW trans fluid cooler is sweet for auto trans, temps never over 175F, at these temps, fluid good for 100K miles.

For those of you who have only read the original first post missed my second post in this thread. Here it is again:

For the past 3 weeks i have been just doing oil changes on the tranny using the hex bold to flush it out. Finally today i actaully took down the pan and changed the strainer and washed the pan and magnets.

It was not that difficult I thought it would be much harder to do. I did not run into any complications and it took me about 2 hours to the whole thing.

I have never used royal MAX ATF. It made a noticible difference, it even better then the Toyota type IV ATF (which is what i was using to do the flush).

Overall I can say that from now on I will only be using Royal Purple fluids (This schlock-schlock-schlock is damn near imposible to get no one sells it and I had to order it online from a store in California).

Jai_Jai_Binks wrote:^^ some people insist on tranny flushing, some people believe on drain and fill. I believe flushing at 60K and again at 120Kmiles (and drain and fill at 30&90K miles) from thereon, i'd only drain and fill. But to each his own.

I drain at 15,000 and flush at 30,000, I found that doing this keeps the tranny fluid the cleanest, keeping the fluid color red/pink always.

But like you said everyone does it differently...just as long as you get it done and dont neglect your tranny, I think it should be fine which ever way someone wants do it.
