2000 Solara SLE V6 1MZ-FE, Red Flame Metallic, Charcoal Leather Interior, Completely Stock, bought 3/2000 brand new, manufactured 10/1999, have 14,946 miles, average is 196.7 miles/month since manufactured. Always garaged, has never seen snow i.e. salt, summer driven only, not a scratch on it. My last garage queen, a 1987 Honda CRX/DX I4 D15A2 (also original owner) went through the same routine for 12 years before I had to use it as a daily driver. Still driving it and it still looks damn good (143K miles). Also have a 1994 Camry LE I4 5S-FE with 93K miles and in great shape (current daily driver, trying to save the Little CRX), dad was previous original owner. Wife has 2004 RA4L I4 2AZ-FE, Black Metallic, Black Leather Interior, Loaded, original owner, 20K miles. She's actually very carefull with her car, never even curbed a wheel, careful where she parks, etc., good girl! Now if I can just get her interested in auto mechanics...I could use an assistant.

1987 CRX/DX I4 D15A2: Bone Stock, Rio Red, Isn't she pretty?
Last of the First Generation CRX's, it's like driving a Go-Kart, Love It!
If one more kid asks if I want to sell this car, I'll scream!
I know what they want to do to her...
You should see their faces when I pull up to them!
I haven't seen another like this one around here in years.

lol, that's what everyone asks me. No, not a show car. I drive it some in the summer, only on the best days, cruise around. I have 2 other cars that only I drive. Have a business supplied vehicle that I drive back and forth to work and... Bought the car for the same reason as the CRX, because I loved it's look. I wash it and wax it and run it so it stays in operating condition. Want to buy it? lol.

I know when strider bought his solara, his mileage was pretty close with you, but now its his daily driver (summer, winter, desert, rain, bird attacks, etc) so im sure he racked up a bit more....

what kind of maintenance do you do to keep it in good running shape while leaving in the garage for months n months at a time? Im sure SCV6 can answer this one too
Retired... its been fun Image

I treat the car as if I was driving it. Oil/filter changes every 3 months with Mobil1 synthetic (Camry uses this oil after drain into clean container), change all fluids every 2 years, run the engine (vary engine speed) making sure oil temp reaches 212F, back the car up a few feet so no flat spots on tires, only gas from gas can with sta-bil (93 octane), sometimes completely drain tank (use this gas in Camry) and start new rotation, If have nice day in winter (snow all melted, salt washed away by rain), will take it out for a run, etc. Hey, might take it out tommorow, conditions seem right! It could use a wash. hehe Same things I did with the CRX for 12 years, it seemed to survive it ok. Some people think I'm nuts, but I'm not you know, I even have documentation to prove it! lol
