Check engine & Trac OFF light on...

Check engine & Trac OFF light on...

Postby Adum-Bom » Tue Feb 28, 2006 6:02 pm

So, after christmas my check engine light came on, took it to a family friend and we looked over the car and he said it is probally the O2 sensor.

About three weeks ago I was driving, after a big snow storm and the roads were wet/icy and i hit a patch of ice and my tires spun out a little, but i was still able to maintain perfect control. During that the <TRAC OFF> light came on and will NOT turn off.

Tonight i took it to AutoZone and had them hook it up to the OBDII sensor. It was infact the 02 sensor

PO135
02 Sensor Heater
Circuit Malfunction
(Blank 1 Sensor 1)
----------------------

So that either will get fixed or remain like it is.

My main question is...is that what is also causing the TRAC OFF light to come on or is that somthing Toyota has to look at themselfs?

Any help would be greatly appriciated! Thanks!

the only time taht I have had teh trac light come on and off and stay on, was when I blew some knock sensors... which im guessing you did not..

the trac light is something different from the O2 sensor. its a different issue

Hey, i heard from the dealer that the check engine/o2 sensor can cause the <TRAC OFF> light to come on if the sensor is not fixed.

Im from Ashburn and will be home next week for SpringBreak doing work on the car (rotors, pads, maybe the O2 sensor and my strut brearing)
