Question about Gen 1 clock

Question about Gen 1 clock

Postby OneMZ-FE » Fri Apr 07, 2006 2:43 pm

My clocked stopped working a couple months ago so I purchased another one off ebay, well of coarse that one didn't work either. I have already checked the fuses under the hood and under the steering wheel. Is there any other places I should be looking? Also my Viper alarm system stopped arming. The doors still lock and unlock but the alarm doesn't arm or disarm. Do I have an electrical problem or is it just a hidden fuse? Does anyone know which fuse runs the Alarm, the clock, and the power side mirrors? Also on the clock, when a passenger sits down and isn't wearing the seatbelt, the passenger seatbelt light on the clock still flashes its just the clock that doesn't work. So is it just the clock, or is it a fuse, or an electrical problem. Thanks in advance

This is what I bought off ebay, the clock doesn't work (at least not on mine) but it is in okay condition. I don't know if anyone needs this but I have no use for it, good for a mach up to install carputer screen or changing the plastic trim color the change the color the clock displays (heard a few people were trying to do it, I don't know if anyone actually tried it) pm me an offer if you need it.

1. if your clock, and the passenger seat belt light aren't working at the same time, it's a fuse. check the coinbox located on the driver's side (left of steering wheel) there should be a fuse behind it labelled CLOCK.

2. your Viper alarm is in valet mode. Valet mode symptoms include:
no chirpping from siren. doors lock and unlock with remote. LED light stays on constant.

to take it out of valet mode open a door, push LOCK, UNLOCK, and LOCK again. if you did this corrrectly your LED should shut off, and your siren will chirp again.

oh, the LOCK, UNLOCK, LOCK sequence must be done from the Viper remote.

(some customers do it from their OEM driver's door lock switch and wonder why it still doesn't work...)

The clock in my 99 SLE Solara was controlled by the cigarette lighter fuse by the steering wheel.
