What is the size of the large socket for front axle hub nut for a 2001 Solara? I need to change the front rotors.

u dont have to take off the hub nut to get the rotor off, the lug nuts hold the rotor on. Just take off the wheel and remove the caliper mounting braket and the rotor comes right off.

yeah, you dont have to take off that big nut to get the rotor off. Rotor simply slides off when you get the wheel and brake caliper assembly off.

i don't think the rotor will just slides off the wheel if it has never been changed recently, but you dont' need to remove the axle bolt, after you take off the caliper braket, spray a lot of wd40, let it soak, and hammer or pry it out of the wheel bearing hub, rust and other forces forged the rotor into wheel hub very bad, took me almost 1/2 hour of hammering and turning to take off the rotor. i believe there are two small holes on the rotor itself, where you can screw in to push the rotor away from hub. good luck

OHH, and btw.. if your rotor is hard to get off like mine was, there are some release holes that you can screw the caliper bolt into that will pop it out

pretty sure its the caliper bolt.. I had to use one of those silly bolts to screw in and pop out the rotor

The funny thing is I did the my own solara before with the drilled & slotted rotors, but I forgot. This was for my brothers Solara. I looked at he new rotor and it has that big hole that slips around the hub, so you ALL is right. Only thing is the asswipes who did the brakes for him 3 years ago stripped out tthat bolt and sleeve on the caliper, so I have to get a new one.

THANX EVERYONE
