Postby fgsethseth » Wed Mar 12, 2003 10:33 pm

i have a 99 solara and it seems to skip whenever i brake too, it's actually kind of funny  - but the braking only seems to affect the cd player sometimes. :o

skipping cd player

Postby ttreat » Wed Mar 26, 2003 10:55 am

My 99 had a 3 in 1 JBL that skipped all the time until I had a dealer replace it under warranty. I haven't had any problems since. I can play burnt cd or originals without any issues.

they probably minimized the problem. I'm sure they didn't solve it or maybe it's just that the 5 freeway near the nabisco factory is just TOOO BUMPY.

The problem is... when I played BURNT cd (CDR), it always skips when I go thru bumpy roads. My question is, do you guys have the same problem with burnt cd (CDR)?

I went to a service department of Toyota (that I will never go back again), they said the cd player plays only original disks... I was like wtf, it didn't say I can't play burnt disc when I buy the car...

Anyways, thanks for your input!
Much appreciated!

I had the same problem with my stock deck...which is the same headunit that you have. Ever thought about just buying an aftermarket deck?

That pic is '00+ cd player. '99 has older model w/ bigger button.

My '99 would skip, but when I change w/ '00+, the skip is minimized.
When I changed to aftermarket, no more skip :D
