Any major difference between gen 4 camry and gen 1 solara

Sorry for a question that may seem silly to you seasoned solara guys, but I was reallly hoping to get a 5 speed 1mz powered camry but seems like I find 8 solaras for every camry I find. I'm really thinking about leaning towards a solara despite weighing slightly more (20 lbs I was told) since I seem to find them easier. Anyway, will I still be able to use most aftermarket parts from a camry on this? I know engine stuff should be good, but what about suspension and braking parts? Any other major differences between the two? I guess it would suit me to have a solara anyway since I do work at TMMK now. But I do love the subtle look of a camry sedan.

TRD Camry

Besides weighing less the TRD Camry is more of a rarity. This one is parked outside my house

In looking it up it looks like a 1999 Camry LE V6 = 3241lbs and a 2000 Solara SE V6 = 3263, so were talking 22 more lbs. (Also according to edmunds, both of these guys lost over 40lbs in 2000 for whatever reason)

The V6 in the Solara is slightly more powerful - 200HP vs 194HP, and the Solara should edge out a camry with all other things equal. Also, every solara comes with foglights, and if im not mistaken, the Solara has tighter suspension than the Camry, and also has a stock front strut bar where the Camry doesn't. Oh, and theres two less doors.

Most parts from a Camry that dont go on the exterior will work on a Solara.

Jon, thank you for clarifying those points. I'm gonna check it out tomorrow, or rather later this morning and see if its worth it or not.
