Trunk Release

Trunk Release

Postby Steve526 » Sat Sep 02, 2006 6:28 pm

I've had my solara for about a week now, and finally read through the entire owners manual.

IT HAS A TRUNK RELEASE INSIDE THE CAR!!!

I was all dissapointed and thought the only way to pop the trunk was with the keyfob or with puttin a key it in, but alas! there's a button to the left of the glovebox!!

It's the little things... :D

congratulations??
where many hate, few will love,
But for those who love,
they'll see what it's like to live.

The button's in a crappy location. Try popping it when you have a passenger in the front seat. Jeez, they should've put it in the door or under the driver's side dash where most cars have 'em. boo hoo

I didnt even get a button in the glove box!

I'm really not sure - i worked at an audio store so i paid employee cost. I think its like $50-$60 bucks regular price. It comes with a button so if you dont have a aftermarket alarm to wire it to, you can still make it work. :D

...Or pull the lever next to the fuel door release. Problem solved without the button in the dash for a Gen1 (but still unable to do electronic release via keyfob).

99-01 = Manual release via a pulley near the fuel door release under driver side seat. (Aftermarket remote trunk popper requires a solenoid installed)
02-03 = Electronic release via button in the glove box (Solenoid already installed)
