Sorry guy...but those poles are there to keep idiots from running into the gas pumps. If you think about it, if someone rams into a gas pump because the dumb driver forgot to put the car in park...presses the gas pedal instead of the brake...and then you got a nice big explosion that blows up the whole block. Now for you opening your door, you shoulda been more careful with that. The person you should really kick is yourself.

i understand that those are made to protect cars from hitting the pumps.. but if they make it so short that it doesn't pass your knee cap whats the point??.. my front bumper can run thru that pole like it was a piece of 2x4.. but that just my 2 cents... btw the pole was like only 18" high.... my rims are 18" im sure a big 4x4 can clear that pole and slam right into the pump.... gas station just had a stupid design... (no offense inttend)

lol, im sorry i read that and laughed my A$$ off, how can you hit a pole? which u know is there? they are at almost every gas station that i have ever been too, but flip is right they do stop cars from hitting them, but you also dont expect a huge 4x4 to be running through there at 50 mph, if he is doing that its a suicide mission, they are there to stop the slow moving vehicles...better luck next time :)

Hey man, i've done the same thing before with my old corolla, blows. Those things are hard as hell to see, and i think if they were like 36" high, no one would hit then and they would do their job a bit better

Sorry to hear that. A dent is a dent, but a big dent is painful. That almost happened to me! Yeah those poles could be nasty denters.

it happens...even if you know it's there. i mean, of course you know it's there, but if you don't make a mental note of it when you're pulling in, that's not going to be the only thing on you're mind when you're opening the door. Unless you see it you're not thinking, "humm..watch out from that pole" haha..although he will now.

i just say this cause i managed to smash my door into a pole like that at work. you know, i've only worked there for like 3years..it's not like i didn't know the pole was there  ...but it happens. at least i didn't leave a mark, but it sure did sound like my door shoulda fallen off!
