Hi. I want to put a big ass system in my car and I want to upgrade my alternator, but i CANNOT do anything that would void out my warranty in anyways. I was wondering if anyone knew if this was possible, what kind of upgrade im looking at, and how much this would run me. Thanks

Chances are these are going to void your warranty, but im not sure. Here are some links to check out.
Here are some sites for you to check out:

The stock alternator is 80 amps according to Gunman, an upgraded one should put you at around 130-150amps, maybe even more

If the upgraded altinator voids your warrenty then maybe think about just adding extra batteries. How much power are you planning on running? I've got about 1,800 watts total and I just upgraded the battery to a deep cycle SVR battery that is made specificly for car audio and I also went with a five farad cap and I have no problems with power ever...

I already bought a yellow top optima for my battery. Im considering many things but now it loks like im leaning towards 2 xtant 1000 w amps and 2 jl7 12" subs. And a 3 farad cap. HOw much and what brand is your capacitor?

The cap I have is made my a company called AllumaPro. Its a 5 farad cap thats flat and square. It measures about 4inches in height and 4 inches in length and about 2 inches thick. I payed a little over 400$. Right now I have 2 JL12W6v2D4's (the new series) running them w/ a JL 1000/1. I also have the new JL 450/4 running my JL XR's in the front and my VR's in the rear deck. The reason I went with the 5 farad cap was because I plan on adding another 1000/1 and 2 more JL 12W6's in the near future. I just got DB tested a couple of weeks ago and I peaked at 152 and ran a constant 148 DB. I hope to gain another 3 to 5 DB when I add the other amp and 12's. Mind you they are in a sealed enclosure. If I went ported I could probaby get a lot more DB but it would not sound as good. The JLW7's are sick subs and you can't go wrong. My buddy has 4 13W7's running it with 4 JL 1000/1's and it is crazy..... Think about maybe going with JL amps they are made to run those speakers....

Hey if you can get that cap for cheap I would suggest going for it. I did pay a little more for the cap then I would have liked to but they gave me a smokin deal on the W6's both out the door for 540$
