Hey guys, i just read something about toyota direct ignition? and i was wondering do we all have it or when did they first start putting it on camrys? Also there was mention of MSD that works with it... anyone know is this upgrade worth it, specifically with a bit of engine work done including supercharge? ( not me yet, a few months tho.... :D )
thanks

For VWs then yes TDI is turbo diesel injection.

On toyotas TDI stands for toyota direct ignition. Its the name for the ignition system. From what I remember, MSD won't work with the TDI system. You can get a plasma boost ignition but your best bet is just to upgrade spark plugs and wires. The stock ignition is pretty good

TDI is toyota's distributorless ignition system. At one point in time MSD did NOT have an application for TDI since the first MSD DIS4 is not compatible. But on the contrary...they relased a model which is supposed to be compatible as of recent. There are 2 other options as well. The Plasma Solutions Igition Booster OR the HKS DLI which is close to $500.
