Get a subwoofer amp with speaker level input and tab those into the rear 6x9s.

Then you will probably need a new deck.

you need to buy a output convertor and tap it behide hedunit with cutting factory speaker wires. It will convert the voltage to low voltage so that your aftermarket amp will do the work.

ultraslow is right.. for the best sound quality if u dont want to replace your h/u then the converter is best... any amp's high level input has a much higher THD compared to the RCA's .. i would jsut get a new h/u .. i mean you will get better control over your sound with just about anything u buy :D

Have you actually ever done this on a Solara, though? I tried using a line converter on my stock headunit while I was waiting for my MP3 player, and it worked.... but you couldn't really hear it. If you opened the trunk you could tell the subs were hitting, or if you were sitting in the back seat, but thats it... And I'm pushin 2 Kicker L7's off of a 2400 watt class D amp. I took it to a shop who couldn't get it to work, either, so I just gave up and waited 2 weeks for my head unit.

The best I could come up with was.... either the head unit just won't work with a line converter for some reason, or... Some Toyotas come with a built in amplifier for your components, however I'm not sure if the Solara does or not. You would probably have to bypass that amp if you wanted it to work. (assuming it actually exists, the headunit may just be worthless  )

first off, i have a JBL premium, so my car has an amp to drive my car speakers. so, in my case, my head unit gives out low level output.
i cant tap those outputs and feed it to a high-low converter.
i will have to tap the high level output of my stock amp, then feed it to a high-low convertor and the feed the RCA output of my high-low to RCA input of my sub-amp

Another q, i ran power cable thru the firewall like others have done, thru the right side and it causes interference with my radio, FM channels. anyone noticed that before?

thanks,
