I was at the dealer yesterday and got a price on the labor. They quoted me a price $800!!! WTF does that sound right?

My personal mechanic (former now!) quoted me at $950!!. I'm afraid to ask the dealership, I guess living next to the NYC makes everything sky high.

yeah its a six. the water pump is not making any noise or leaking I just wanted to do it before it got bad.

Dude, befriend one of the toyota tech's...tell them to replace it after hours. Some dealerships allow this, some don't....Some tech's do this from they homes (garges).

lol that and he's been very shady lately. Its hard to find an honest mechanic, I checked a local "big" shop and they quoted me @ 550. That's what made me decide not to deal with him anymore.
