Battery?

I know this is a pretty noobie question.. and im pretty noobie at being a mechanic ..

ive left the car light inside on over night ... and my battery died. I jump started it. Ever since then.. its kinda struggled to start my car.
Ive had to jump start my car a lot lately b4 that as well for whatever reason.

Should i be getting a new battery? or is there some other alternative..
If so.. any recommendations?

Is your battery old? If you drained it too far, and it was on the old side, it's possible that it does need to be replaced.

im guessing your battery is out of juice. go for Optima or Interstate. I think both are a pretty good brand.

you're gonna have issues with all the optimas. get the orange top which is now the red top but with the pols reversed.
i think it's worth it, but only if you have lotsa stuff bumpin in your trunk or stuff like that. for daily driving id just stick to interstate, optima would be a lilttle overkill, but to me there is nothing wrong with getting a better battery.

Ya, you might need a new battery if it's older. If not, just rev your car iin park for a minute so you can get to the nearest AutoZone and get it charged.

As for a new battery, I have never seen Optima anywhere, so IDK about that area. My family always gets Duralast Gold, we think it's the best battery we've ever used for daily driving. Be sure to get the one with the most (or near most) CCA, or cold cranking amps. The higher it is, the faster your car starts .

no real issues with any of the optimas although their terminals are reverse of what we have

just yank on the wiring harness and clip some of the stays on it, and you'll have enough slack to hook up your battery

you'll have to get some aftermarket battery terminals and alter your wires to make it work though


and before you go out and get a new battery, when a battery gets FULLY drained, it is very very hard to recharge it properly using an alternator and it will often die really soon or not hold a charge properly from driving.

if you have access to a trickle charger, charge the battery for a night and see if that works. often, it will revive your battery (if it was a good battery and it wasn't THAT old), or if that doesn't work, then it's really time to get a new battery

^^ Thats what i was thinking. Just go to auto-zone and check them out. They recharge batterys (if it can be recharged) or suggest alternatives (if it can not be charged)...while your at it, have em' check your alternator too!
