What RPM does fuel cut off?

What RPM does fuel cut off?

Postby Fletch » Mon May 19, 2003 8:24 pm

I searched this topic and can't find any answers. Redline is 6200 RPM but I think I may have gone a few hundred RPM beyond that a couple times. Does anybody know what RPM fuel cut off or the rev limiter is at? I don't want blow my 100,000 mile engine trying to find out.

I think the fuel cut off is 6250, I wouldn't worry about over reving as long as you aren't racing that much, which you shouldn't be doing on a high mile engine anyways

100K just broken in.. If I can 250k out of a areostar and no major rebuild. I figure 300k to 350k out of my Solara sle.

Maybe I exaggerated a little when I said I went a few hundred RPM beyond 6200, it was probably more like 50. I bought the car used with 97,000 miles. I know the oil was changed regularly and I just had the timing belt / water pump done. I figure it's good for at least another 100,000 miles of normal driving, 50,000 miles of hard driving.

No question the car will last long, but its just a lot of stress if you continually running it hard.
