i keep blowing instr-panel light bulbs

is there a reason the lights in my panels keep dying on me? do you need to be SUPER gentle when handling them? I've been working on changing the colors of my dash and other stuff, and in the past 3 days, i've killed 4 bulbs.

i killed my overdrive indicator bulb, my "D" gear indicator bulb, my AC control backlight, and my ashtray bulb.

i'm also pretty pissed off b/c everyone told me that the bulbs for the ashtray and climate control were 74. sounddomain told me that, autozone's website said that. but they're NOT 74s. 74 bases are too freakin' wide. i cracked one of the glass bases to make it fit. when i turned on the power, the light lit up for like 2 seconds and just burned out due to the heat

so are they 2721? also, where can i get a new bulb for my OV and D indicators? and while i'm at it, a bulb for my AC button? do i have to go to the dealer?

dont pitch it. I have questions about this. I have the digital climate controll stuff. It is all green in color. Is there any easy way to make it bright blue or clear white? Or even a hard way but many instructions so I do it right. Also I want to change my clock to bright blue or clearish white. Is that just a led or is there a film over the clock. Thanks
