How to lock High Beams?

How to lock High Beams?

Postby mazen222 » Mon Aug 06, 2007 7:21 pm

For some reason, i am unable to lock my high beams... if i pull on the light stick, i get the high beems but as soon as i let it go they go back to normal...
I dont wanna drive arround the city with them but when travelling high beams are a must... i had to hold them for 15 min last week when driving on highway with no lights.

Once they locked by mistake... i wanted to put my right flasher on and i did it very fast and the high beams stuck... but when i pull again on the stick they go back to low... i tried doing this but no success

Is there a trick for this or are mine f*cked?

Thanks!

Most European cars have it so you can flash the high beams, even if the lights are off. I believe in Germany its the law that you have to flash the high beams if you pass someone.

Allot if not all American cars just have a high beam on or off switch.

Older ones, yes... My first car (Buick Century) was like that, where I literally got in a habit of just rapidly switching my low-beam headlights on and off was a routine. However, I noticed that many newer American cars can flash the high beams nowadays, although most are just as he described: pulling it briefly would flash it and further back until it clicks would lock it.
