Here is another oldie but goodie.

When you get a new battery always make a solution of baking soda and water and wash the new battery. Regardless of what some people say there is always battery acid on the case and the baking soda will neutralize the acid. At the same time put your battery terminals in a paper cup of the solution and watch the bubbles. Use an old toothbrush to get into the threads and while your at it you should also wash out the battery tray and hold down clamp.

Actually you can use this method anytime you see white residue on the cable terminals. Krylon makes battery protecting spray that you can put on the cable terminals to protect them.

This has always worked for me.

Ok update:
Vertict, horrible battery.

2 years ago when I first bought the car stock, used. the dealership must've had the original battery there, since I didn't drive it that winter, the battery died (haha stupid me I forgot to disconnect the plugs), So in a rush for school the next day I went to autozone and picked out the cheapest 30 dollar battery I could find. (the one that was having issues now), everything worked great for roughly a year or so.. maybe a little more, but wow so much battery acid all the time, finally today I did the suggestions of baking soda, etc.. NO luck. haha. So i decided F it, tested the alternator just to be safe, it was perfectly fine.

So I decided to get a new battery, with those fuzz things to place under the clamp to resist the batt acid from going all over the terminal posts.

Voila, no more issues!! :D whole day and not a single fault. problem is this battery is kinda tall so my stock tie down isnt gonna really work.

Glad you got things worked out. I haven't seen your tiedown but couldn't you get a longer one? How about the hardware you used on the previous battery?

That is the thing, the battery is too tall, when i put it over the battery itseslf, it angled up. so I'm going to have a chicken wire thingy hold it down a bit when its attached to the battery tie down.
