Tacometer flucuates while driving...

Tacometer flucuates while driving...

Ok, so when I start the car it revs up to 1500-2000 rpms. then as I am driving the tacometer will flucuate and the car seems to lose a bit of power but not enough to stall out.

Any ideas as to what that is? Did I make sense?

Kimalee

PS - I am thinking the IAC Valve? I read a post from another person on here and it seemed like it was the same problem?! It was recommended by the dealership when the previous owner had the 90k service done. It says on the paperwork, "Idle sticking sometimes" Is that the same thing as what I described above?

Ignition? Sounds like one of your spark plug wires are loose or something. I'd say check all your wiring under your hood to make sure they're secure and not touching each other. That goes for battery wires and alternator grounds also.

Outside of that, might need more info...

if you are driving wtih the throttle down and it stuff does that, then check ignition problems...or MASSIVE vacuum leaks...

if it only happens at idle, check for both of those things plus iac valve
