ohio law mandates 50% all around. on the windshield, no tints allowed, except a strip at the top (cannot be opaque, and must be no wider than 6")

Here in Wash St it is 35% alla round. Cops and Staters have a card they hold up to your window-if they can't make out the words on the card-you'll get a ticket. I've seen darker tints than 35%-don't know if they are living lucky or just pay the fine.

In Florida, its something like 35% film front, rears realistically have no laws, since I've never seen rears being enforced. They use a light meter to check light transmission thru the whole window.
