New 2004 Solara Arrival!

I noticed that you can't get leather in the SE Sport. And you can't get the curtain airbags if you want the JBL sound and the moonroof yet you still can in other configurations. I bet that will change for the 05 models.

hey, this is my first post on here, but I just wanted to say that I actually prefer the new 04s to the 03 and befores! I actually like the rear end, and think the body kit and interior are really nice! The local dealership has a frost white one there and it is just awesome lookin! Good looking enough to make me think Id rather pay $25000 for a SE Sport V6, than pay $35000 for the 350Z like I was planning! I just want a car thats fun to drive and looks nice, and I think the Solara will be just what Im lookin for, for 10k less than the 350Z. I know the performance isnt the same, but I think Ill enjoy the Solara just as much as I would the 350Z for my purposes anyway! Great lookin site, I hope to learn quite a bit in the up coming months before I purchase my Solara!

I think the new Solara looks really nice. Just wish Toyota had not of screwed up with not allowing you to combine options, especially on models other than the SLE. Having a hard time justifying $25,000 for a Solara SE Sport V6 over $24,000 for an Accord Coupe EX-V6 that is fully loaded. :o

actually there was a thread on v6performence.com in the 7th gen accord forums. some posted a site. someone did a comparison wit the camry wit the new 3.3 v6 vs. the 03 accord ex v6 sedan. and the camry wit the 3.3 beat the accord by like .1 second. but the v6 accord beat the camry in the 1/4 mile by like not much.

Hard to believe that you would even be looking at a Solara when you've been seriously considering a 350Z. They're miles apart in performance. However, I'm sure you have a better idea of what makes sense for you than I do! :D

I just saw my first 04 Solara in person yesterday as I passed it on street. It was better looking than I thought it would be, although I didn't like the rear end. As I came up on it, I knew it was the new Solara because it's rear end does look like the SC430. The car was a really bright red, so my overwhelming impression was how bright the color was! I'd still like to see the interior since people really seem to like it. Anyway, not a bad looking car, but I will not be trading my 01 for one.

I have the 2004 SE-V6 in red

Postby pantyninja » Mon Aug 25, 2003 12:03 pm

I picked mine up at Boston's largest Toyota dealer last Wednesday. What a sweet ride. Smooth as can be. I hope to get some pics up soon.
Definitely better looking in my opinion than previous generation. I just happened to be test driving an accord six speed coupe(A tad faster, but not in the real world and definitely not as nice inside) and saw the Solara parked outside. I would never walk into a Toyota dealer besides. Everything seems so boring. Paid 24 flat for mine. Got an extended warranty to 100K just because the fiance then gave it the blessing to take home :P

MMMM new car smell
