Intake Qestion

Once again, I have searched the forum for an answer to this question but I have not found it so if it has been discussed but I couldn't find it, then please don't flame me for it.

(I should make that my signature, I feel like I'm always putting up that disclaimer to keep from getting yelled at on these boards)

Anyways, here's my question:

How do you guys feel about the R\S Akimoto intake? Any good? I see a few people on here have this intake and some are trying to sell it so I was curious to see what everyone thought about it or if they had heard anything good and bad about it. Thanks in advance for any help that you can provide me.

from my understanding, as long as it is a short ram intake, it will suck HOT air to your engine from your engine bay..also i heard that you will lose power at the high end

correction... you lose low end torque, but get a slightly quicker rev. as there is less restriction on the intake system vs stock air box

however most likely you run a little rich at the higher rpms.

i for one have never seen RS A intake, however a good majority of us have Injen intakes.

my opinion? you are good enough off having a TRD drop in or K&N drop in replacement filters.

yeah, it comes in alot of colors but i think i know which site you're talking about that has a big pic of a purple one. I've also seen weapon-R intakes that have a cover that goes over the filter and then like a tube that leads out into the outside of your engine bay, has anyone ever seen that? Here's an auction for one:

scroll down and you'll see it, it's the free gift

that tube is called a dryer duct. cheap way of having cold air. however on some cars, it works fairly well.
