99 SLE Loose Spoiler ?

99 SLE Loose Spoiler ?

Postby guest » Sun Oct 26, 2003 5:03 pm

I just bought a Silver 99 SLE V6. I was washing and detailing it today and noticed that the ends of the spoiler are slightly loose. If I grab the very end of the spoiler and lift it up and down it moves slightlty. I opened the trunk lid and checked to see if the nuts were loose and they weren't. I slugged them anyway. Does anyone elses have this play in it. b.t.w. the car only has 20,600 miles.

Mine is a little loose also. I'm guessing it's from the previous owner taking the car through the scratch thru car washes. I only wash by hand. Peel away the carpet under the trunklid to reveal the fasteners, maybe they can be torqued up a little, I haven't bothered.

HKSV6SLE, Mileage is documented, little old lady from Las Vegas. Bolts are tight. I was just wondering if anyone else has this.

hmm... you can perhaps put some weather stripping b/w the trunk and spoiler to get rid of any movement.
