need to find a 12v switched wire lead

Postby kaarona1 » Sun Feb 28, 2010 8:07 pm

I am looking to install an extra cigarette lighter to hardwire my satellite radio, but I only want it to turn on when the car is on. Where can I find a 12v switched wire lead to splice into? Can I use the ACC wire from the radio harness? Is it 12v? Thanks

the switched acc wire in the radio harness is a 12 volt wire and will work for what your doing.

If memory serves (back when I had my old radar detector hardwired) I tapped into the "seat heater" circuit in the drivers side fuse box.
