CEL And Brake Problems! Help me!!

Postby yoboyandre » Thu Mar 04, 2010 7:06 pm

So a couple months ago I started having problems with my car. My Check engine light would turn on randomly and turn off giving errors about o2 sensor or fuel pump or something about the gas, I had been told this could be just the gas i was putting in the car as why it turned off after a lil' while. But THEN my light came on again i checked it and got an error code about a problem with the EGR(Exhaust_gas_recirculation). Has anyone had this problem with there solara? Then maybe a week later the same light that turns on when you pull the E-brake started turning on and off randomly. I checked the e-brake plug on the e-brake its self and reset it but still have the problem. If anyone could please help me if youve had the problem and fixed it... and what are some the cheap ways to go about fixing this since i dont have much cash. THANKS EVERYONE!

btw i have a 99 solara

Check the brake fluid level. A couple bucks for a top off might fix the brake light.
As for the EGR problem. It would help if you can tell us the actual code, as it could be a number of things.
Trust me, I'm a technician.
