Hi, I recently bought a 2000 Solara SLE and am pretty happy with it. I have a couple of questions for you guys though if it's okay, I searched around for a while but couldn't find anything specific to what I want to ask.

1. Is there any way to turn off the lights while the car is running? I don't suppose there is any real need for this as long as I am not at a drive-in on a cold night or stalking people in the middle of the night but it would be nice to know I could.

2. My car appears to arm itself after 30 or 40 seconds automatically, can I change this?

Thanks and great site you guys have here :D

1. search for "disabling drl" or something to that affect. Someone has pictures posted, but you basically disconnect the gray connector in your engine bay in the upper left hand corner (if you are in the front of the car).

Thanks, I saw some things about that. Not sure if it's the same thing but I don't mind the DRL and they seem to be independent from the sensored night time lights. I tried playing around with it at night by putting the car in park and pulling the E-Brake and making sure the lights were in the off position but nothing seems to work.

remove that twilight sensor in your dash (located directly in front of your passenger seat) after you unplug that sensor, you are free to drive around with your lights off in your pursuit of young women and ugly haters...

the factory alarm, will automatically re-lock the car if you unlock it and don't open any of the doors within 30 seconds i believe and yes it is annoying..im not sure how you could change it without disabling the whole system.
