bosch is a pretty reputable company; i'm sure their spark plugs match up, if not surpass, those denso IK22's.

well they're in now...and i would suggest that everyone look into them. it's the bosch +4 they have four grounds, and are capable of having mulitple sparks. and they cost half as much as the Ik22s.

Nice to have someone else, other than me, pushing for more information on half stated ideas :). Best I can think is that it's just wrong. DENSO and NGK go in Japanese cars; Bosch is a meant for the VW, BMW, and AMG crowd :).

Any of you tech guys have a better reason, or is what I said above? I mean plugs are plugs, you have different grades, but I cannot imagine that DENSO’s best are better or worse than Bosch’s best.

I heard couple bad things when Bosch plug/wires applied to Japanese car.

My friend who has a GST change to bosch and the engine kinda coughing under hard accell after couple weeks. He switch back to NGK.

Stick to NGK or Denso.

Bosch +4 Plugs

Postby Dave D » Wed Nov 05, 2003 10:48 am

I've had them in my 99 SE V6 for about 46,000 mile (changed them at 60K) and they have performed great! No reason not to use them. If others are having problems with missing etc. I would suspect a poor install or some other problem. Incidently, cars don't really care what country of origin the parts came from. I like that, It's not right to put German parts into a Japanese car. That's funny!

The spark temperature doesnt work as well for the 1mz as other plugs would. It just isnt any benifit. Especially if you want to run high boost. I've heard varying results as to their durabillity and life. Depends on the car and how well everything works together. They wont do any better than something like this http://www.ngk.com/more_info.asp?AAIA=&pid=3040

If you have supercharger, go with Ik22. if you dont have SC, then go for IK20. The downside of denso iridium is the lifespan is short and will last you 30,000 miles.

I have Ik22 in my solara and i love them, i gonna buy another set for my car (used 20,000 miles, but my car is running too lean and strip the lead, i think)

Before that, i was using the Bosch +4, only felt difference for 100 miles. Act as the same as stock platinum plug after a while.

NGK made iridium too, but their conductive is not as good as Denso - therotically. but they will last longer, about 6-80000 miles. Somone please help me get the links that i provide in teamSC3. (study of NGK vs Denso)
