2000 SE Newbie

My car came with only one key & NO remotes, thus the confusion.

Dealer here could not access or print a factory equippment list by giving them the VIN#.

I did take notice today how the security light goes off when you insert the transponder key. It will not go off when inserting a regular key, nor will the car start(as it should work).

I'd imagine there is a module for the KE/alarm equipped cars no ?.

Where would it be located ?.

That should solve this mystery.

I have a 2001 SE. It has optional Sport Trim package (VL); and Upgrade Pkg #1 (VF) (standard with Sport Trim Package) INCLUDES Leather seats & Steering wheel, Aluminum Wheels. Keyless Remote Entry, Premium JBL, Mud Guards & floor mats.

So you have to get the optional Sport Trim package to get Keyless Entry. The package was $2,532 List, $2,137 Invoice.
If you have the Premium JBL AM/FM w/CD & Cassette you should have Keyless entry (at least on a 2001 Solara)
