Idle drops and stalls.. help!!

Idle drops and stalls.. help!!

Alright my 2000 solara (60k miles) has been in the shop for a week!!

Last monday I headed out from my house (engine was warm), drove down this hill and noticed my car struggling to regain power... I was like "WTF?!?" and looked down to my RPMs... my idle was bouncing up and down!! Pulled up to a stop sign and thats when she stalled...

started her up again and managed to just pull up to the curb... seeing my Solara on a tow truck :o :(
I figured alternator/battery prob... nope! those are fine! mechanics been at it and figured it was the Idle Air Control Valve (IAC)... so we got it cleaned up but it still didnt do the job so we got a new replacement... No luck...........

Basically the car can start up, but you gotta keep the gas down or else the idle drops so far that it dies... fuel line is ok, air flow is fine, theres power... now Im thinking its the dayum computer! :o

What inputs do you guys have? All you can give is MUCH appreciate!!

the other day i was trying to find were my EGR is at and I left one hose disconected from a sensor behind the intake manifold and my wife took the car to the store and she was saying that the car was acting as if it wanted to turn off and the RPMs were bouncing around. (she got scared and turned back home) I was like (My bad... ) Funny how one little hose can make a big difference.

the shop didnt get in touch with my car until after she died... and the car wont stay stay on without revving the gas... even with revving, you can tell theres power thats struggling!

the shoot is that I wasnt given any warning... the CE light never came on... so I just thought it was another normal day of leaving my house and BAMM it hit me

any other thoughts?

i had a similar problem with my solara a while back but my car would just idle funny and only shut off a couple times within a 2 week period, i found my problem to be the throttle position sensor (tps), i replaced it everything was back to normal. it was about 60 dollars at the dealership for the part and it only takes about 10 minutes to change.

Your throttle body probably needs cleaning: http://www.4x4wire.com/toyota/maintenan ... ttle_body/

It fixed my problem!
