Question about tire aspect ratio

Question about tire aspect ratio

Postby Delshin » Sat Apr 17, 2004 7:02 am

16 inch rims on the solara with 205/60/16. I would like to be able to put on p nero's 205/45/16, but do not fully understand the aspect ratio of height to width. Is the 45 number just a lower height so I would drag on the ground with those tires or what? Calculator for tirerack just offers the 205/60/16 option. *shrug*

Do not want to have to buy new rims yet (hopefully) just want a decent all season tire.

You will be traveling at 60mph but your speedometer will read 66.2mph

Unless you can recalibtate you're speedometer I don't recomend it.

Seeing the visual really helped out, thanks. Now to see if the 225/55/16 are just to wide and would hit the fender wall turning, only a .24% diff but I think to wide :(

this all depends if you are lowered or not.

personally, just go to 215/55/16. that's what i did and the tire was already starting to look odd.
