so here is the update...
omaha must be notorious for bad machine shops... I have had my new block at the new machine shop for over 4 days now... and no word of ordering the new rings.. So I call toyota and have them call, since the Machine shop hates talking to me, hes just a dick.... so Toyota calls me back after talking to them, and says that the owner is being very unprofessional to them to and is being a dick... they also said that the Shop is waiting for my deposit before they order any rings... well someone failed to let me in on this secret... how F*cked up is this? what do I do? just use the stock rings, or do I find a shop w\ less street credit for doing imports? this is the "top shop" for import motors... and they blow
what do i do?

You're aware that you're going to set the gap for each ring 3 times more than the standard ones, right? (Assuming that you're going for the service limit)

so anyway... after a long wait.. I will be getting my car back either today or tomorrow... it will be a big bill.. but im going ot get that back... Total seal looked at my rings and pistons and said that whoever did the work was 1) very dirty, because there were scratches in the piston skirts and 2) didn't have one of the piston ring gaps correct... they are writting me a statement.. then thats off to the lawyer so he can work his magic

one disappointment after another... got a ride back from lincoln, and it turns out it ran perfect, except when it just died... everything ran perfect.. the guy said it was a nice ride, then it died... No check engine lights.. Im thinking that they didn't tighten the bolts on the battery terminals tight enough.. so another day w\o my car... but I did get a rental car... well I talked my mom into taking the rent, an Impala, and I took the BMW for the day and friday... should be a good night.. too bad I don't have my car tho :'(

I have to say that sucks. My car has never given me engine trouble but I have wrecked my car before and it took them almost 3 to repair. I hated having to rely on my mom and dad to get me around to where I needed to go. The sad thing about mine was it wasn't that bad really. Just smacked a tree with the front passenger side at 25. New hood, front bumper, fender and suspension with tire and wheel. Just a little over 8 grand was the final total. That really hurt.
