What has been your average life of these headlamps? I am lucky to get 9 months.

6-7 months is fairly standard. If you want increased lighting, and at least three times the durability, try the Sylvania Xtra Visions.

Jag's on spot.

The silverstars are very overcharged to give the same light thru a blue tint on the bulb to give off the "whiter light". Sylvania says they should last about 1 year, but it may be shorter for us since we have DRL.

Xtravisions are the way to go for more light, and they should easily last longer than the silverstars.

I have about 2 years on a set of H7 Phillips Vision plus bulbs. They arn't the "ultrawhite" looking ones, they are just made to put out more/better light. So far none have burnt out, have 3 in the bike and it sees alot of bumps and vibrations. I'm thinking of putting a set in the Solara.

Philips Vision Plus (US) and Sylvania XtraVisions are roughly the same. The Osram Silverstars (NOT Sylvania Silverstars), Sylvanias Xtra Visions, and Philps Vision Plus are all high output untinted bulbs. Osram is the parent company of Sylvania, but do not market under the Osram name in the US.

I think the ones in the US market are not as bright as the European market ones due to some legal restrictions, since the Osram Silverstars says +50% on the package, and the Sylvania Xtra Visions claim +30%.

The site I listed is a UK site, free shipping. The bulbs I have are the UK version, and yep...not DOT approved.
