Questions about NGK Iridium IX

Postby nmatthis » Wed Jul 14, 2004 9:20 pm

I currently have Denso IK22s, which are one step cooler than the stock plugs. If I go with the new NGK Iridium IX, which model number do I need so I get the equivalent of the IK22s? I need the one step cooler model since I'm supercharged.

Does anyone know how long the NGK Iridium IX plugs will last, compared to the Denso IK22's? Longer than 30k miles?

I can't tell you how long they will last or tell you they are somehow great plugs because I have no data to back it up. Recently, I decided to switch to NGK iridiums just to try something different. After a lot of research, I came up with NGK BKR7EIX, stock number 2667. They're in and running great. Hope it helps. My next set will be NGK copper. I've had multiple people tell me to go to NGK BKR7E stock number 6097. They aren't for everyone, 2 steps colder and if you aren't running them hard, they'll foul. They also need to be replaced more often. -JoeB

I'm only talking about having to change the regular copper plugs more often not the NGK iridiums. -JoeB
