Postby oompah2788 » Thu Jul 22, 2004 5:57 am

I think i remember someone having this same problem and i THINK i read this on this forum so i tried searching but i got nothing...posts that didnt have to do anything with shake or brakes..... but anyways......... my problem is.. everytime i brake with moderate pressure above 20-30 mph, the steering wheel shakes or vibrates... and it shakes more faster, stronger, the more faster i brake from or the harder i press the pedal..... i just got new tires and had my wheels aligned so im pretty sure thats not the problem... what do you think here?? maybe i have warped rotors?? help me out.. THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rotors may need turned or wheels may need balanced. Start there; I bet it's one of those things.

Rotors - Resurface needed
Brakes - Probably worn also

Go to Just-Brakes and have the 4-wheel friction reline for only $99.99

Betting on resurfacing rotors. Are the OEM or Drill or slot?

i have oem brakes..... yah i had thought that it was the rotors.....i guess ima have to resurface them and get new pads.... The just-brakes deal sounds real good but unfortuneatly im in hawaii and theres none down here.... yes, how much does it cost usually to have your rotors resurfaced and how much does oem brake pads cost....and this is for both front and rear.... Would it be cheaper to take off the rotors myself and bring it down to the shop or would it be the same just to have them take it off there??? Thanks!

if your going to resurafce your rotors you might as well get new ones. Its not that much more.

Just a though.

I just got new brembo slotted rotors and axxis Ultimate brake pads... for 140.00... for the front.. and the install is pretty easy.. im having a shop install them for me and the cost is only $25.00...

do you think its only the front brakes that are causing the shake or would the rear cause it too??? (doubt it cause the front are connected to the steering).... but would i need to change or resurface the rear anyhow??? i would get new rotors depending on how much resurfacing costs..... do yo uknow how much resurfacing runs around?? if i get new rotors and pads i could install them myself...... Thanks
