Horn replacement
OK, I am now tired of the wimpy horn and would like something deeper in tone. I have searched the forum and found out that there are (likely) two horns in my 2000 SLE, one in from of the radiator and another (higher pitched?) one somewhere behind one of the fog lights.
Lots of questions and hoping for answers:
1. Do the newer Camrys, Solaras, or other Toyotas have a better sounding horn? If so, has anyone installed a newer OEM horn into an older Solara to get that lower-pitched sound? (This way, one could keep all the wiring harness connectors and possibly the same mounting bracket.)
2. I am not adverse to some wire cutting and bracket macking (but only some). So, does anyone have any tips on good aftermarket horns? If you have installed one, which spot did you do (in front of radiator or behind the fog light, or both?) If I only install one horn in fornt of the radiator, will the chirp for the remote lock be affected? (I didn't think that chirp was from a horn, but someone seemed to suggest that it was)
Thanks in advance - regtor
