hey guys,

curious to know if anyone has any suggestions as to what this problem could be. I took my car out today for the first time since Sept 24th. There was a puddle of coolant under my car which i didnt notice till i got back home. I opened the hoood and saw smoke coming out of my timing belt. I think it might be my water pump, but im not quite sure.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Rajat

for what your saying it sounds like your water pump is leaking. I wuld get that changes asap before it seizes up and mees up your timing.

also the upper radiator house runs by that spot check that before you do what i mentioned above.

Leakin' coolant

Postby SleeperSolara » Mon Oct 04, 2004 7:10 am

It might be the front drain plug.
Check that.
Cause i just flushed my system and put in a new thermostat, and had tigthened the front drain plug, and i keep leakin' out the coolant. Until i tightened really hard, until it can't go anymore[try not to strip it]
Also check the water pump housing.

thanks for the replies. I took it to my mechanic today and we figured it out. The water pump was leaking, so i replaced that and since i was in that area did a new timing belt too.

Thanks again
