Fogged Plastic on Gauge Cluster

Fogged Plastic on Gauge Cluster

Postby MNSolara » Wed Oct 20, 2004 7:21 pm

Stupid me!!!!!!

I used windex on the plastic for my gauge cluster and now it's semi-fogged up! grrrrrrrrr. I should have known better but was in a hurry cleaning and didn't realize what I had done until it was too late. Anyone know of a product to get rid of this without having to replace the entire plastic piece entirely? suck!

oh and 1st official snow here in Minnesota was on Saturday, Oct. 16th! More suckage!!! grrrrrrrr. not a lot of sunshine going 'round these parts lately! Thanks guys for the help, in advance.

Take out the cluster and remove the clear shield and clean it thoroughly. Throw it in dishwasher if you want. Then put it back in.

Better yet, get a plastic cleaner like Meguiar's PlastX or Blue Magic. That stuff made my gauge cover and headlights/tailights look like new.

For some reason my guages also developed that haze when i lent it to my sis for a month (last year). I think she used some glass cleaner there too! Anyhow, i did use the PlastX, and it did do wonders. But plastx is a good coverup solution, meaning...i do it every other time i wash the car..cus the haze comes back. It does work tho'; my haze is by the speedo and by the clock!

Use Mother's Plastic Polish. The stuff works great and should solve your problem. Click on the "Special Care" link to read about it.

A lot of glass cleaners have chemicals that etch into polycarbonate.
